Possible solution for Mac OS X 10.5.5 64-bit CF8 Installer Java Update Issue
Posted on November 29, 2008, under Apple, ColdFusion, Solutions.
Nathan Mische – you may not typically re-post content but this sure is a great prospective solution! Thank you for the great find, I still haven’t tried it – my wife won’t give me back my MacBook!

- In a terminal window, go to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Commands (cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Commands)
- Remove the symlinks (sudo rm -rf *)
- Copy the files from /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Home/bin to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Commands (sudo cp ../Home/bin/* .)
- Run the CF installer
- Remove the files from /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK (sudo rm –rf *)
- Recreate the symlinks deleted in step 2 (sudo ln –s ../Home/bin/* .)
Maybe I won’t get it back, she just said “It’s MY notebook now…” I’ll keep you posted on how I regain possession of my MacBook from my wife’s grip!
Thanks!

Looking for a great way to build an API into our system using CFCs with an authentication method, etc.
If anyone has ideas, please shoot them over to me!
Community Software Update

Well, the forums area is rounding 3rd and is really working well.
Began focusing some time on the photo albums and profile sections.
All I have time for tonight!
ColdFusion Social Network Platform (Open Source)
Posted on August 6, 2008, under ColdFusion, Open Source, Projects.
As some of you may have remembered… I started a social network platform that I planned to release as open source.
This project is not dorment, infact – it's being created under LongarmChat.com which I just announced. I'm using this LongarmChat project as the funding to get the code written.
The data structure could be better but it's going to blow the socks off of all of the other ColdFusion Social Platorms… considering none exist that I have found…
If you feel the urge to watch the progress of the system feel free to contact me for the link.
You cannot register or login on this yet but all of our local copies work. I'll keep you posted when the registration and login are active and some more back end things are complete.
Keep programming!

Chrrch – Church Management System Update
Posted on August 6, 2008, under Chrrch, ColdFusion, Projects.
Well, things are moving along.
Slowly!
We just picked up another developer but him and I are trying to knock out another project first and then we'll be all about Chrrch.
Hopefully once we get this project done you should see Chrrch moving to a public beta.
Hope all is well!

New Project – LongarmChat.com
Posted on August 6, 2008, under ColdFusion, Projects.
Feel free to check it out or send your mom / g'ma that way if they are into this sort of thing. I'm doing the graphics, UI, and programming. I've chosen to use Fusebox 5.5 (shock) and OOP principles.
The existing service is at http://www.longarmchat.com/.
If you're interested in seeing the progress please contact me for the link.
I just started this 3 days ago so don't hound me about errors :p
Hope all is well!
