Welcome to Chrrch v0.3a!

Posted on August 29, 2008, under Chrrch, Projects.

Well we launched v0.3a about an hour ago.

It's definately rough but I think it serves it's purpose for this alpha stage application.
We released the Mail Merge feature which includes printing and emailing of letters.
You can chose your recipients by individual or by groups.

See Justin's blog for more extensive information about the new Mail Merge feature.
Visit Justin's blog at http://justin.remote-app.com/.

I personally did the Processes & Queues section which gives you the ability to standardize practices on how you handle certain people such as visitors.  Things like Sending Welcome letters is easy and definately a good way to keep track of the status of people.

Don't forget, the pilot program is still going on and any church looking to take advantage of getting a fully functional hosted church management system for FREE should contact us today and get started.

We hope you enjoy v0.3a!

FREE Church Management System / Database / Software / Service

Posted on August 22, 2008, under Chrrch, Freebies, Projects.

This is a special opportunity for any church looking to start using a church management database and is not looking to pay for it.

Our service is currently in alpha stages and we're looking for pilot churches to begin using the service as is. By participating in this service you will be given unlimited functionality for free indefinitely.

This service will be charging once it is live so take advantage of this opportunity by contacting us at sales@remote-app.com or by phone at 513-392-0127.

For some slightly dated information but still fairly relevant you may visit our website at http://www.chrrch.com/.

Thank you,
Joshua F. Rountree

Chrrch - What is to come in v0.3a?

Posted on August 22, 2008, under Chrrch, Projects.

As some of you know, Chrrch is coming along quickly.

In v0.3a we are adding 2 new major features…

Our Mail Merge feature allows for very extensive letter creation using "MS Word-like" formatting capabilities. These letters can be sent in several different sessions in email or printable format.

Mail letters can be reused by other people in your church if needed. You can add individual people or entire groups of people as recipients to your mail session.

Processes and Queues is a new feature of Chrrch and is not something uncommon to see in other ChMS systems. This is the "tracking" piece that you may get in other systems such as not letting your visitors fall through the cracks. This allows you to create individual procedures and reuse them for anyone in your database.

An example of a Process would be "First Time Visitors" and it may have different queues or tasks that need completed when a visitor is added to this process such as "Send Visitor Letter" or "In-home Visitation" or "Send Fruit Basket"(if you are really nice, please send one my way too!)

Each process has managers, these would typically be pastoral staff that have tasks to do for each visitor or person in the queue. These managers will receive email notifications when a new person is added to their queue or they are assigned to a queue as well as a upcoming tasks will appear on their Dashboard so they can get a overview of the closely due queues.

The explanation of these features will become more extensive once they are released and utilized but this is merely a small announcement of them.

Happy programming!

UPDATE! This functionality should launch on Friday, August 29nd, 2008.

Chris Davies: Voice Talent Quick and Easy

Posted on August 20, 2008, under General, Voice Talent.

I would just like to say that Chris Davies at ProVoiceUSA.com is the fastest, and easiest way to get voice over talent. He is also the cheapest I have found.

At prices at just $30.00 for 30 seconds - you can't beat that.
And the longer you need the cheaper it gets for example 60 seconds is just $45.00.

He was really good about modifications that I needed done. He sent me 2 proofs and I asked him to do something different and he had it back to me with the change in about an hour.

If you're looking for awesome voice services, you can find him at ProVoiceUSA.com!

I've attached the final recording he did for my phone answer message.

Happy programming!

Community Software Update

Well, the forums area is rounding 3rd and is really working well.

Began focusing some time on the photo albums and profile sections.

All I have time for tonight!

ColdFusion Social Network Platform (Open Source)

Posted on August 6, 2008, under ColdFusion, Open Source, Projects.

As some of you may have remembered… I started a social network platform that I planned to release as open source.

This project is not dorment, infact - it's being created under LongarmChat.com which I just announced. I'm using this LongarmChat project as the funding to get the code written.

The data structure could be better but it's going to blow the socks off of all of the other ColdFusion Social Platorms… considering none exist that I have found…

If you feel the urge to watch the progress of the system feel free to contact me for the link.

You cannot register or login on this yet but all of our local copies work. I'll keep you posted when the registration and login are active and some more back end things are complete.

Keep programming!
